This IS(for)RAEL!!!!

The initial idea of our family taking on this exciting (and terrifying) opportunity first presented itself toward the end of 2013. Luke came home from work one day saying his company was looking at a job in Qiryat Gat, Israel and asked if I would ever consider moving there.
...............uhm... crickets....

I think I laughed and wrote in my journal at what a funny joke Luke told. :-)

No seriously, I didn't entertain the idea and promptly dismissed  it without any thought. Luckily though, in spite of my ignorance, the seed had been planted and within the next few hours, my curiosity got the best of me. I began researching the country (In all likelihood, I was looking up information to back my quick (false) judgement.)  and was soon intrigued, excited, and 100% on board to move.. so much so, that the following 4-5 months were excruciating (and as I type this, I am still having to remind myself to be patient for July) because the job was still in discussion.. no bid had been placed and (as many are aware) it's challenging to know exactly where the HP life will lead, so getting too amped about any particular place can often lead to feelings of disappointment. <-- a lesson I am SO glad I learned early on (see my Guam blog for reference). However, the more I read, the more I realized what an incredible experience moving to Tel Aviv would/will be! Luke's and my excitement grew but, as often things go, we were just sitting around waiting to hear something. After weeks of nothing, we just accepted that we likely weren't going and reminded ourselves to be content wherever we are (bc we really do love living in Arizona). It was the very next day, we were invited to attend a meeting as part of the group going (pending the job was awarded)! More excitement and hope!! Yet again, we had to keep it at bay until a few weeks later, the job was official!!! WOOT!!! The next meeting occurred while Estella and I were visiting family out of town, so Luke went solo that time. With each time the group gets together, our enthusiasm grows! Luke loves what he does and the scope of work out there is something he can't wait to be part of.  As a family, we are just so ready to take on this opportunity, visit places we never dreamed we could see in person, and absorb as much as we can about other countries and cultures, worldwide.

It's funny to think about my "BIG" move to Dallas after graduating college and how far I've come since.. (literally and figuratively). What an awesome company my husband works for that enables us to live in so many different places! I love being Luke's wife, and in turn, an HP wife:-)

What an adventure!!

L'chaim (to life!)

**As our move date gets closer, I will update the progress of preparation and of course, will share our upcoming experiences in the Holy Land<3
