We made it safely to Israel!! Though Estella wasn't sure she was quite ready to leave all of our family and friends (see pic below..one of my favs) she was such a mature and easy going traveler the entire 2-day trip!!
We flew from OKC to Boston on Sunday.. Boston, b/c Luke had to pick up his work visa from the Israeli Consulate on Monday morning. He had to do so in person (at the approved location). So, this meant a quick trip to a city I've always wanted to visit! It was awesome!! We walked our feet off in the little time we had and just loved everything/everyone we met. We cannot wait to go back on our own agenda sometime.
Monday evening, we jumped on a quick flight to Jersey and left from there to Tel Aviv.
The flight overseas was better than I could have ever hoped for. Many people say Estella looks like Luke and that may be true, but she sleeps like me! :-D EV and I snoozed the entire flight and woke up rested and excited to be in our new home. (Poor Bobby cannot sleep on planes so he was a walking zombie until yesterday..)
We love our heartland
Good-Bye USA
Ready for our adventure!
Luke watched movies the entire flight
EV just relaxed
We landed!!! Oh! And the airport was shockingly easy!!
Outside of our new place
Which ones are the Americans??
EV already found her favorite spot to be
Happy life of an HP wife!
When we arrived on Tuesday evening, we had one phone and it was completely dead. So, I have no pictures of our first dinner at the Jaffa Port..it was one for our own memories and a huge part of me is glad I didn't have any distractions keeping me from taking in every second..we were totally in the moment, enjoying the food, the music, the breeze off the sea.. it was really an awesome feeling.
Moving around frequently is one of the toughest yet most rewarding aspects of Luke's job. Something about moving here--though completely incomprehensible to some-- and just seeing the beauty of the land and culture first-hand, feeling the history all around...it's just, awesome. I try to capture any portion of the vibes in photos, but the pictures I have been taking don't even begin to do a good job of showing you around our new home.
Right now I'm still having a hard time processing we are living here and aren't just on vacation. The food is delicious. The people are friendly, very down to earth, and extremely family oriented. I will try to give you a glimpse into what it's like living in the Holy Land.
L'chaim!
